The EPMA Project represents a significant step toward strengthening digital transformation and knowledge management in public health research and program implementation. Commissioned by the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process and contracted with HABTech Solutions PLC on March 12, 2026, the project was initiated to address the limitations of traditional research dissemination approaches, including static PDF reports and offline data management tools. The project introduces a comprehensive National Digital Hub built around four strategic pillars: a Portfolio Website, Content Management System (CMS), Data Visualization Engine, and Learning Management System (LMS). Together, these components provide a centralized platform for managing research outputs, monitoring health indicators, sharing knowledge resources, and supporting continuous professional development.
The EPMA Digital Hub is designed using a modern, scalable technology architecture that enables secure data management, real-time visualization, and efficient content delivery. The platform integrates dynamic CMS capabilities for managing publications, reports, datasets, events, and research materials; advanced visualization tools for interactive dashboards, geographic mapping, and data-driven decision-making; and an LMS for course management, applicant tracking, enrollment, and certification. Developed using modern web technologies, including Next.js, React, PostgreSQL, and Prisma ORM, the system follows a modular architecture that ensures maintainability, security, and future scalability. The 16-week implementation roadmap covers system design, development, integration, testing, deployment, training, and final handover, followed by post-deployment support to ensure smooth operation and sustainability of the platform.
