Day 2 of DHIS2 National Forum Highlights National_Innovations, Global_Insights, and Hackathon Excellence. The second day of the DHIS2 Forum, held during Ethiopia’s Data and Digital Health Week 2025, highlighted the growing impact of digital tools and regional innovation in strengthening primary health care delivery.
Sessions opened with a look at climate and health data integration in DHIS2 by HISP Ethiopia, followed by practical regional experiences, including the Data Quality Feedback Loop System Tool (FeeLoST) from Amhara Regional Health Bureau, and Ras Desta Hospital also shared facility-level best practices in data quality assurance. Later, a virtual presentation on international DHIS2 experiences by Dr. Abyot offered valuable insights into how other countries are leveraging the platform to drive health system improvements.
The day’s highlight was the Hackathon Presentation, where three finalist teams demonstrated innovative digital solutions to real health data challenges. Winners were selected through combined audience votes and technical judging. The forum concluded with a recognition ceremony led by the Ministry of Health. The top three teams received certificates and cash prizes, sponsored by HABTech, of 50,000, 30,000, and 20,000 birr, respectively.
